It should give you an illusion of the third dimension. I thought that gif will work for everyone, because:
• doesn't need 3d glasses, unlike the anaglyphs (like http://e621.net/post/show/219660/ , for example)
• doesn't require you to do a cross-eye (like http://e621.net/post/show/260448/ , for example)
