Fuck you. All he did when you hit the jump button in midair was use that sudden flash spin. Granted it would chew through anything, but Knuckles could glide and climb onto almost any wall, and TAILS WOULD FREAKING FLY.

Seriously, Genesis Sonic got screwed in the abilities department.

Well...then again, Tails got screwed in the Super department, considering the ONLY way to get him into a super mode was to collect all of the chaos emeralds in Sonic 3, and then use your continued progress in Sonic 3 and Knuckles to gather the Super Emeralds and finally unlock the super mode for Tails.

Things beyond your time apparently, Super tails had flickies, knuckles had after image, and sonic had sparkles, and once you had sonic and knuckles, almost no one really bothered with tails.

Hyper Sonic had a double-jump flash that would blast all enemies on-screen. Hyper Knuckles, when gliding, would shake the screen and kill all enemies when he smashed into walls. Super Tails' flickies would kill enemies for him.
