Hello,

I'm using a media center called Kodi. It would be nice if someone could build an add-on to retrieve directly pictures from e621.net and show it in the media center. Could someone do it ? I'd love to make it myself but too bad i know nothing in programmation.

I don't know what add-ons have the ability to do, but it should be pretty simple to just use the API to grab them (provided they there's a way to cURL, and/or something to wrap it in like Python). There's probably an even simpler way to do this without cURL, but I'm not an expert on the subject. Oh, XBMC was renamed. Then yeah, Python.

Edit: And I'm unlikely to ever accomplish this, but I'll poke at it to see what it would involve.

Edit 2: I found a project that looks like it might be promising. Its original intention was for moebooru boards, but it was discontinued in favor of one that will intends to support more generic danbooru. On the old addon it says that the danbooru one was scheduled to ship with Kodi 14, so there may be some hope. Whenever they finish it, adapting it to work with e621 would probably be relatively straightforward (at least compared to writing one from scratch).

The projects seems to be discontinued. :(
