Should birds be aliased to bird?

The suggested usage for 'birds' in the wiki hints at a flock of v-shaped birds,that act as background activity (the kinds you see flying into the sunset,or some other scenery)
Such as post #204044 , post #172550 , post #168948 etc.

Given there's only a handful of posts tagged with birds (68), if we do keep the meaning as of a flock of un-detailed birds,as opposed to aliasing it to refer to ones with recognizable features, how about changing it to bird_flock or something similar?

(There's also an existing flock tag with 2 posts that's used for both recognizable sheep and birds)

Agreed, and flock could be used to mean any kind of flock of animals, (regardless of species) and then combined with whatever species it is for identifying.

Yeah, there shouldn't be both plural and singular forms in use, bird should be enough.

Flock refers exclusively to birds (except geese) and sheep, let's not use that word at all, certainly not for other animals. Probably bird_flock, sheep_flock, etc. A more common species-neutral term is herding.

Maybe we want to alias bird_collective -> bird_flock, etc.

Maybe there's something already like this which search isn't turning up, I'm surprised there's no tag for large masses of birds.

Yeah, I was trying to find a very neutral term for animal groupings like herd or pack.
