Tag Alias: Bug -> Insect

Reason: A likely blacklist target, bug and insect are not distinguished from each other in the archives. My research on this point was hindered by the fact that this is something I'm waffling on blacklisting.

Also, bug doesn't have a wiki page, while insect does.

You're right; don't really see it being used discretely on e6 often (the most common insect that comes to mind would be the butterfly)
Sounds fine to me

Would this alias conflict with any pokemon tagging?

Edit:
On that note, how about an alias implication of butterfly -> insect?

Reason: Butterflies are insects

That shouldn't be an alias. It should be an implication. Butterfly should implicate insect. All butterflies are insects, but not all insects are butterflies.

Whereas bug and insect are synonyms. EDIT: I think they're synonyms, anyways.

Whoops, thanks for catching that typo

As for the difference between the two,

While "bugs" are a type of insect, not all "insects" are considered "true bugs."

Reason

All insects are found under the Insecta class, which includes over a million species that have been cataloged and more being discovered on a regular basis. Bugs are part of the Insecta class and found under the order name of hemiptera and the suborder name of heteroptera.

Is everyone in agreement with an alias of bug -> insect
And an implication of butterfly -> insect?

Updated by anonymous

I'm in favor of an implication bug/butterfly -> insect.

I'm in favour, but I wonder if "bug" is also used to refer to software bugs? Pictures of computers crashing, Flash games with bugs, etc...
