Topic: Tag Discussion: goo (and related)

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

We need to come up with a local standard for defining anthropomorphic creatures made from goo.

goo_girl is not acceptable, as this is gender specific. goo seems to refer to the existence of goo, and not specifically a creature constructed of goo.

Blar.

I like amorphous, but how about going through goo and replacing the non creature ones with another tag like wet or slimy.

I wouldn't support changing the tag. Goo's a good tag for slime-creatures.

Interesting. Perhaps.. 'sentient goo' to differentiate from just green blood or slime?

That said, I think I honestly like goo_creature best (with goo_girl and goo_boy aliased to it.)

I would say slime to denote ... y'know.. puddles of goo, flecks of goo, etc, but slimes are actually a living critter in some settings (.... living_goo?) or. all of the 'living things' could be 'slimes'.. though that word isn't as... uh.. not gross.

that said, the goo tag probably needs some clean up as I see several creatures that jjsut seem like they're melting post #205771 or are simply coated with a gel-like fluid: post #206571 which are different then 'obvious' slime creatures: post #183766 post #186888 or cube/blob shaped critters: post #163655 ... worst, there apears to be a LOT of pictures which are jsut tentacles or cum (post #183277 post #139681 post #134587)

so.. perhaps the different varieties should be labled differently? there seems to be:
1) goo-people (tranparant humanoids)
2) goo-things (blobs or cubes like from minecraft or dragonquest or such)
3) melting people (probably shoudl jsut be 'goo people rather then a separate category)
4) not goo at all and instead are tentacles which may be covered in a slimey substance, or cum, or other sex fluids and should be relabled.

I'm not suggesting any tags for these, jsut trying to get 'everything' on the table for clarity.

slimy for the adjective

living_goo & goo_creature sound good
Why alias them though? For example, a straight picture featuring a goo_girl and a male anything-else would render a search for living_goo male pointless, and vice-versa (which is a similar argument for the loli/shota thing in forum #38123)

Most times having a gender split tag is redundant. Can we have an alias or decision put in place before we clean up the tag? I don't want to change a bunch of tags when an alias will just do it in a second
