Implicating couple -> duo.

Reason: Solo - ... - threesome - foursome - group.
The second one probably was couple, but couple soon gained a different definition. Duo was made instead to fill in the gap. Couple means two intimate/cuddly/[insert couple stuff here] characters. Duo means two characters. Please don't aliase, nor delete the tag. I think it's a good way to fill in the gap between solo and threesome, and the use of it should be spread.

I think an "intimate" tag should be used instead.

I'm against. There could be picture with couple, and additional character(s) on it.
Like post #255179, or post #222889

Also, solo, duo and group are AFAIK only purely quantity tags.
Threesome, and foursome implicate also a sexual activity.

Booping for more opinions/final decision

So what is everyone in favor of and think is the best course of action?

I like the idea of having solo, duo, etc, as quantity and having couple (or the aliased version could be intimate) for cuddly

I feel like duo should only be used when there are two people in the whole image, couple is something that can be used when there are more people present. So there's a distinction. Having said that, I'm not opposed to aliasing couple to intimate, since it's too subjective anyway.

I think that is just what I will do

Aliasing couple to intimate in a few hours if no one protests

Intimate seems like much more of a subjective tag than couple though, not to mention it doesn't convey the idea of 'two people interacting intimately'

Come to think of it, there are a slew of tags currently in use that are used for some sort of intimacy:

love - Seems to be used interchangeably with intimate and romantic
romantic

intimate
couple

Do we need 3 tags for intimacy?
-

A suggestion

I could see some sort of distinction being made between a couple (used for number) being physically intimate, while in a romantic setting; which portrays an overall theme of love

But that could just as easily be seen as tag-bloat by some

(Which could probably be alleviated by implications:

couple -> love
romantic -> couple
intimate -> love )

Or something similar

I don't see a need to separate between sexual and non-sexual intimacy, there're other sexual tags than can be used to differentiate both. Inversely, a romantic setting doesn't necessarily have to involve a couple (like showing one end of a candlelit dinner, hence being a solo), and thus not intimate due to the lack of numerical quantity implied with such.

I'd say wait until I've cleared couple off of the rest of the images that should be duo, but real life keeps smacking me in the face, and I just haven't been able to get on and have a long go at tagging projects as of late. And there's nothing saying the intimate images can't be gone through to find any that clearly should have just been duo.

Go for it.
