I don't know about that, they should be different things, shouldn't they?
A saliva trail is the layer of spit left behind when something is licked, but a saliva string is specifically a strand of saliva suspended in the air.

Even the Wiki on saliva_trail says it's redundant of saliva_string, and when I looked it up, the tag was pretty much used for the same as saliva_string. It could be kept then, but people would have to use the tags correctly this time
