Topic: A question about tags (help me out here, trans ladies)

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

I already argued about the awful tag "dickgirl" and was told to shut up, so Im not here to talk about that. At least it has girl in the name.

What Im here to ask about is why is tagging "Lesbian" on a post involving two or more women a bad thing when they have a penis? For that matter why is it not okay to tag "dickgirl" and "male" as straight?

This kind of stuff implies that me and my girlfriend are not in "a romantic relationship involving two or more women and no man" AKA a Lesbian relationship.
This kind of stuff implies that me and my girlfriend are not women, because we each have a dick.

Before you say something about people not wanting to see "dickgirls" when they search for straight or lesbian(or "cuntboys" when they search for gay or straight), I have one thing to say to you. If they dont want to see "dickgirl" they should blacklist "dickgirl".

Not allowing two "dickgirls" to be tagged as "Lesbian" is the same as denying trans women and telling us what every crazy right-wing zealot tells us, "You are not women."

Updated by Moon Moon

By definition a lesbian is a female that is attracted to other females and a female does not have a penis. On here, we use TWYS (Tag What You See) and if we see two or more females (only females) having sexual interactions, we tag it as lesbian. A dickgirl having sexual interactions with a female is not tagged as lesbian but instead tagged with dickgirl_on_female. If a female has a penis, it's no longer a female.

If we tagged two dickgirls having sex as lesbian, not only are we mistagging the image, but we are also messing up the search system. When a user searches 'lesbian', they expect to see female on female sex, they don't want to find any penis in their search.

We aren't tagging real life.
We aren't tagging relationship status.
We aren't tagging sexuality/orientation.

What we tag here is what is visible in an image.
Period.
Nothing else(with the one, specific exception of character/artist names).

So, what we tag as "lesbian" is simply romantic or sexual interaction between 2 females.
That's it, they might not actually be lesbians.
If there was a picture of 2 real girls kissing that were straight, which is all over the internet, we'd still tag it lesbian, because it's just saying "this image has a female interacting romantically with another female".

I have a better solution to your problem with the tag.
We have existing tags to address female x dickgirl, and female x herm situations.
I'm going to suggest an alias to bring this issue in line with those to prevent further confusion.
Alias of lesbian => female_on_female

Pretty basic answer.
We're tagging it so people can find the type of porn they want quickly, and avoid stuff they dislike.
As a whole, E6 is a porn website - Not the best of places to look for superior treatment of gender roles and mental states. I don't really wan't to get into this discussion, on every single website transgender is brought up it always leads to horrible drama.

No one here told you to shut up, nor even implied it.
I even actually offered a viable solution to your complaint.

Frankly, your attitude isn't exactly inviting people to have a reasonable and productive discussion.

A dickgirl could just as easily be a male who wanted to look more effeminate and have breasts, but still identifies as male and straight. Is it right to then tag that lesbian?

Nobody really tried to have one though. They just said dickgirl =/= lesbian and then there was a jab at tumblr.

To be quite honest I started this post because I got a strike for tagging a flash as lesbian, because I saw lesbians and tagged what I saw. The mod that gave me the strike used the phrase "pure females" which was really fucked up.

I was just asking because there's where I've seen this discussion (but with worse results, including bashing, harassing and insulting). Hell, if I post "I'm a cis male" I'd get a lot of hate/insulting asks :/

I don't say that we should ignore this, it's just the thing with male/female/bi/gay/cis/straight/pan/plate/burrito/etc is really confusing for me, maybe because I'm just ignorant about it. But I say that if somebody is willing to enlighten people, he/she/it should do it with the correct words and not throwing insults left and right...

Anyway, I'm off to take a nap. If somebody wants to bash or enlighten me (not directed at any one or the ones present), do it with the correct words and being clear on the subject. G'night...

Edit: Now that I read what I wrote, I realized that I might not be using the right words, if that's the case, I'm sorry. I have'nt sleep since 5Am and I'm prolly not thinking straight (heh, get it?), so some words might sound a bit offensive given the context... again, I apologize in advance.

he/she/they*
if you want to be respectful and dont know the pronoun someone prefers use "they". "It" is degrading and implies less than human.
If you do know the preferred pronoun and it is not "they" then never use "they" because that is as misgendering as calling someone "he" when they tell you "she".

there you go. no bashing or name calling.
I really dislike that the trans people on tumblr get so fighty, but it does come from a life time of being beaten, harassed, silenced, and seeing people like themselves killed. Tumblr seems to be one of the few places they can actually vent about it safely, and even there we often get floods of death threats.

First of all, if I offended you then I'm sorry, that was not my intention to do.

Second, I used the terms as they are used on the site, not to describe the gender they identify as, I said '"pure" female' with the express intention that it only counts for a 100% female body, adding a penis onto a female body is, for our tagging standards, the same as adding cola into beer, the beer stops being pure beer and instead becomes a beer-mix.

So, yes, I was not saying that you're less of a female for a having penis, but that the label "female" is no longer applicable to properly describe the body type of having the body of a woman with a penis a attached to it.

Which brings us to the other point, we tag lesbian only when both participants possess a female body through and through, adding a penis into the mix changes the body type and thus the tag used to describe what is happening.

Updated by anonymous

as genderqueer person i understand how problematic this is but here we tag what we see and we cannot see in the character's head and tell what they identify as.
plus we should not compare dickgirl furries to irl trans women because about 98% of dickgirls in furry art are just born that way and they might have their own gender identity that cant be shoved in male or female category

That was the best analogy I could think of because there have been court decisions on the matter.

We germans take our beer very seriously and it is written in (some of ) our laws since 1516 that it only counts as beer if the only ingredients are hops, malt, yeast and water, if anything else is added it stops being a beer and is no longer permitted to be sold as beer, but needs to be sold as a beer mix.

Crazy Germans.
That means that around 90% of the American craft brewed beers aren't beer in Germany.

To directly answer your original question: We don't tag dickgirl/dickgirl as lesbian because so far we have opted to avoid tagging any transgender (or anything not 100% male or female) action with any orientation tags. Trying to figure out which orientation tags go with which combinations other than male/female would be a nightmare, as would making sure everyone [/ielse[/i] understands and remembers to tag them correctly.

For example, would a cuntboy on dickgirl be straight, because there's one penis and one vagina? Or lesbian because the dickgirl is mostly female, and the cuntboy has a vagina? Or gay because it could have what is mostly a male sucking on a penis? Or for dickgirl/dickgirl, would we tag it lesbian because they're females kissing each other, or gay because they're swordfighting with their penises?

So we just avoid all of the trouble and don't tag any orientations. Sorry if any feathers were ruffled, but using those terms in this context is just too much trouble. The description is available to better explain what's going on in the image without altering the tag system though.

And please don't hesitate to bring up any issues you see on the forum.

Except a female is defined as having female primary and secondary sexual characteristics (breasts, pussy, body shape, high naturally occurring levels of estrogen, etc), whilst a male is defined as having male primary and secondary sexual characteristics (dick, lack of breasts, high naturally occurring levels of testosterone, etc). By merging those characteristics it no longer is male and female, ie, straight. It is they and they, or in this specific example, cuntboy and dickgirl. Mental state and perception does not come into the question at all.

Well if a creature is transgender and it shows signs of being a dickgirl you tag it as such, as is for other gender options. Even if deep down in it's little heart it wants to be something else that it isn't, ya' tags it like ya' sees it.
We aren't trying to be the patriarchal cis-gendered non-otherkin scum that whomever you are following on dumblr has convinced you as so, and your hostility is frankly quite humorous.

In shorter words, we tag the sex (bodily attributes) and not the gender.
Which is why we tag male and female, instead of men and woman, which is why we use dickgirl instead shemale, transgirl, futanari, mtf and whatever else people describe themselves.
And if there was a proper term existing for a female that has the normal female sexual characteristics but swapped primary sexual characteristics than we would use that instead of dickgirl, but sadly there isn't one.

On the topic at hand, Orientation doesn't apply to a non binary gender system; as it only deals with labels for it's binary components. So tony is pretty much dead on the money.

Close! But you used the wrong term, It's not the sex of the character, but the sexual characteristics (which I think is what you are driving at). Sex is binary, and that doesn't do characters justice, so the original staff just use porn terms for it; they were more for hard facts then silly nomenclature; remember tagging artist's real names? Anyhow, on to the second point.

e621 (And furries in general) have always been one thing.. stubborn. No one likes new. No one liked the new ownership until they got used to it. People flipped when e621 started using Serpent based layouts. No one likes switching away from furaffinity so they bare down in the hell hole. They'd still all be on deviant art if DA didn't kick them in the first place. Hell you should have seen the backlash from me just installing their profile images. I don't even remember how long tony protested that one :p;

On this site calling two women with penises not lesbian is cool, rules and what not. But irl if two ladies with penises are together they are in a lesbian relationship. It looked like Husky was implying that they are not, because lesbian = 100% female in every single absolute way.

Also what moon moon said was trasphobic imo and I "got this idea from" the fact that I've had people say that kind of shit to justify misgendering and disrespecting someone.
Mostly me, because I dont always sit down, as it can be a hassle sometimes when I really have to go and dont feel like fighting my skirt.

When someone makes an unstable building, even if they did it completely by accident, its a good idea to tell them that their building is messed up.
I like to apply that thinking to when someone says something that is messed up.
Even if they didnt mean it to be messed up and offensive, its a good idea to alert them to the fact that it is, so that in the future they can build a better house or something.
