Ok, I want to start this out saying that this is going to sound super hypocritical. Please just hear me out.
I just read a comic that was about a father and son relationship... Surprise, surprise, the dad screws the son (literally). Now, I know without a trace of doubt in my mind that that comic was morally messed up. Incest is wrong, being a pedophile is downright disgusting, and being gay is frowned upon.
With all of that aside, a little part of me said "dang, this is freakin hot!"
...
Why is that?!

Maybe it's because you subconsciously realize that it's only fantasy and not reality?

I don't know, I'm not a psychologist.

1) The only logical reason why incest should be frowned upon is because it increases the likelihood of having retarded children. Yet pregnancy isn't even possible between father and son so I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. (If the son is old enough to give consent, see my point 3)
Do you have any other arguments why you consider incest to be immoral?

2) Being gay is frowned upon?
Only in Africa and Russia.
Do you have any arguments why homosexuality should be considered immoral?
I am asking this because I don't know any.

3) Pedophilia is frowned upon nearly completely all around the world and this won't change any time soon if at all.
As a super free thinking liberal faggot I am all for freedom and choices but in doubt I accept the notion that
1. children can't give "informed consent"
2. you shouldn't have sex with a human who can't give that consent even if the human appears to enjoy it
I feel no disgust for pedophiles, I just pity them for having a sexual orientation they will never be allowed to live, one that is incompatible with the society they are living in.

Taboos should be talked over calmly, technically and without prejudice. You shouldn't just blindly follow societies oppinion, but think about things and come to your own conclusions.

Sure are, but being entitled to an opinion doesn't mean you aren't an asshole or a bigot for having a specific one.
For example, some people may be of the opinion that black people deserved being slaves, and still should be.
Now they're entitled to have that opinion, but having it definitely makes them a bigot.

So, I just wanted to step in because I've seen some pretty close calls with the assumptions and responses to opinions.

Now, it is perfectly acceptable to have an opinion that may not be popular with another person, for one or more reasons. You may speak your mind about that, if you so choose, as is your right as an American citizen (or being a user on an American website). Saying that someone is wrong because your opinion doesn't agree with theirs is both un-American (remember, we were founded as a place of refuge from religion intolerance) and completely unacceptable here.

That being said, please take care from making generalizations about how people other than you feel about a certain topic. There are laws in place in the US that prohibit bestiality, but I know a few people that are very much into it. It would be inaccurate for me to say, "no one in the US is into bestiality" just because I personally am not.

To answer the OP, consider Emotional Intelligence. You have possibly been raised to believe that incest is wrong, pedophilia is wrong, and being gay is wrong, but you may not hold those opinions yourself, and that is perfectly okay.

Consider for a moment that incest was the primary method of breeding during the Renaissance period and earlier, as the kings/queens of old "kept the blood strong" by interbreeding. It was frowned on, and considered weakening their political power by breeding outside of the family.

Pedophilia was generally accepted back in the day, and still occasionally sees a commonly practiced (China, some Middle Eastern, and some African nations are typically in the news in regards child marriages) area where those choose, and sometimes prefer, that type of arrangement. Its their culture, and their rules, of course, but is very much illegal in the US.

Homosexuality is a hot topic in the US and Russia, at the moment, with clear divisions on who perceive it as right and wrong. The people who feel it is wrong have loudly proclaimed religious reasons for feeling that way, while the people who are okay with it tend to go to the scientific route, as well as natural discovery.

Regardless of your position on this, you can feel attracted/excited/turned on by displays of these actions, especially if the art tends to lean towards a more provocative angle. It does not make you a bad person to enjoy these things in the private comfort of your own home, and no one has to know. I would recommend that you should understand what you like and form your own individual opinions on the topics.

Understand that there are laws that protect its citizens from incestuous relationships as well as attempting to have/having sex with a person under the age of 18. No matter what you feel about the situation, that is still the law.

Imma just ignore that whole 'being gay is frowned upon' on the assumption you probably didn't think that sentence through in your head. As for the other two points;

Incest is one of those taboos that most people agree are against, but not everyone agrees why. A super legit reason to be against incest is if it causes kids with birth defects. Because not only are you being irresponsible with birth control, you might be screwing over your kid as well. That said, people can use protection or (as in this case) there's no chance it could even result in a pregnancy to begin with. Is that still wrong? If everyone is consenting and mature then I find it hard to think of a reason it'd be considered 'immoral'.

Paedophilia is a much more serious topic. It's a simple fact that most kids over the age of 13 go through a phase of wanting to explore sexuality. I personally feel trying to suppress this is futile and can lead to reckless behaviour in either the short or long term.
That said, it's not something that can be left unchecked either. Even if a minor consents to sexual action, there's a good chance they don't understand the implications or consequences. it's very necessary for laws around this to be pretty hardcore because - as we all know - there's a lot of sick people out there. If everything could be looked at objectively and case by case, we'd probably end up with healthier sexual psyches all round, but laws don't work efficiently that way.
All in all, it's safer to just have the age of consent higher and call everyone below off-limits. There's a chance a relationship between a minor and an adult could be a healthy one, but it's a pretty slim chance.
For the sake of a porn comic though, you're probably fine. At least, as far as ethics are concerned. Unless you're very religious, in which case, what the heck are you doing here in the first place?

Oh, you wanted to know why people can have conflicting views?
Human beings are hypocritical by nature. Far from being alone, the only people who are absolute in everything they think are usually dangerously unbalanced. People struggle with their own moral imperatives all the time. Part of having a healthy concious is not avoiding being a hypocrite, but rather acknowledging when you are being hypocritical and owning up to that. Introspective moments like that can help us realise when we're wrong and help us improve as individuals. Only cowards will never admit when they've doubled back on themselves, because it means facing your own failure.

So basically, if you've found a moment where you're running against something you've said, take a moment to consider how much you really meant it.

When I brought up the topic, I mainly wanted to focus on personal conflict, I had no intentions of bashing beliefs or practices. I apologize for the misconception. I have never been able to write my thoughts down to form cohesive ideas.

For the record, anyone interested can look further into incest and why it is now taboo by exploring history and looking to the renaissance and earlier periods, as EDF mentioned- That interbreeding causing birth defects and eventually resulting in the royal blood becoming so interbred that everyone was related far too closely and resulted in a large number of unfit rulers and nobles in general. It was for this reason that incest was banned, not for any societal reason- It has simply evolved to become that from the church outlawing it due to what it was doing to the royal blood (as the king and royal blood were seen as divine providence, the king being God's chosen on Earth), and with the USA's puritanical origins and how cultures have altered themselves to fit to the US (considering it was a major superpower, this is not surprising), it has just gone further into societal norms.

Har. It was a legitimate concern with royalty and other nobility- the amount of incestuous inbreeding was threatening to completely destroy the royal lineage of multiple countries, so I can understand why they implimented the war againstincest at the time.

Personally, I feel that since we've come to understand what it is about incest that causes the issue- that of repeated infamily procreation causing doubling up of negative traits, some that can be lethal- that caused us to ban it in the first place, that consenting adults should be allowed to participate in incest freely if they so choose- I see it as another case similar to homosexuality where it's not really any of my business who you love, nor is it really the business of the state (beyond tax benefits) or church, either. At least, in my opinion.

Uhh...I guess getting poop on your dick (not just gay for this one), along with the aids epidemic that happened to the gay community. Not immoral but, you know, most people would wanna avoid that? I guess? I don't share the view but I'm just trying to come up with some arguments.

I have no pity for people that abuse children, they deserve whatever comes their way.
