Topic: Tagging / Rating Problems - In Regards To My Tagging ( A General Ramble Perhaps )

Posted under General

Just incase anyone wants to know how I tag between ratings

I always saw post's that have no Blood, Genitals, Female Areola, Implication Of Masturbation Or Strong Implication Of Sex and if course Any Sexual Fluids can be rated Safe in my opinion so long as I don't see anything like that (plus Scat and Watersports)... But that's just me.

People are free to change the rating if they feel like a post is more questionable than safe
hence why I don't lock tags

This is mostly a post to explain my method... And to clear things up as I realized it CAN get me in trouble if people assume I'm 'abusing the Rating Tag"

After all the site runs on "Tag What You See"... And I don't really consider someone's Butt to be that questionable considering I grew up on Old Cartoons when I was a kid, but I suppose I'll try and be a bit more careful (Considering I got flagged and well... Id rather not get flagged again right?)

Hope you guys and gals reading understand my methods on ratings... And if YOU don't YOU can just change it (unless I feel like it's actual Tagging/Rating Abuse, then I'll most likely change a tag/rating... Which I've actually never seen Tagging/Rating Abuse on this site so far, Kudo's to the mods for that)

Non-explicit, but suggestive and nude or almost nude should generally be Questionable. Though, that's where all the biggest edge cases between Safe and Questionable lie... Obvious fetish content is also questionable (or sometimes explicit). The difference between Safe and Questionable is effectively "is it porn?", which is a judgement call that has to be made. At least, that's my intuition. Now that I've written this, I guess I should check the official explanation:

Questionable (Mature)

This rating should be free of the content found under Explicit, but may include:

  • exposed female breasts with nipples, including obvious depiction of female nipples pulling through clothing
  • slight cameltoes and/or non-detailed bulges
  • realistic blood (without gore or anything else covered under Explicit)
  • pubic hair, perhaps from over the top of underwear or a swimsuit
  • deep/French kissing
  • characters wearing revealing clothing with obvious erotic or teasing intent
  • suggestive posing (such as butt shot) where focus is drawn to breasts, butt, or covered/obscured genitals
  • sexually suggestive activities, including groping, grinding, straddling, lap dancing, or any other kind of obvious foreplay
  • all content with slight (but obvious) fetishistic material
  • light teasing bondage (done with household items and similar), soft vore, or depictions of older characters in diapers with otherwise no explicit content are acceptable under Questionable

"suggestive posing (such as butt shot) where focus is drawn to breasts, butt, or covered/obscured genitals" is the most relevant part here.

What about focusing on a guy or girls bare butt for the purpose of Comedy... Is that considered Safe?

Or a character like say Felicia from Darkstalkers who is Naked but without Genitals shown (her fur is covering them except for her buttocks - She's actually in some E Rated Games... Mostly Puzzle Fighter and yes you can see her bare buttocks in Puzzle Fighter from what I remember and hear, even if she does looks like a "Chibi" version of herself much like the other characters of Puzzle Fighter) is she Safe even if she's just in a neutral or combative pose?

And What about Suggestive things like The Boo Sisters from "Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door" who are dressed like Playboy Bunnygirls?... Or Lilith who is also from Darkstalkers who also dresses in that getup when using her special "Gloomy Puppet Show" Move?

How would I tag that stuff y'know?

Edit: I'm serious... Any tips?

Edge case...? At a quick glance, I'm seeing it basically always tagged Questionable though.

Edge case? Feel free to share specific example images.

~peeka_(mario) ~lahla_(mario) -rating:e -breasts <- the current tagging is consistent: "safe, unless they stick out their tongues in a suggestive way that could allude to oral sex (or perhaps extreme French kissing)"

You are definitely talking about the edge cases here. Your record was for more clear situations though:

post #6035185 <- clearly fetishized embarrassed nudity
post #6035154 <- clear focus on a butt

...and so on. You had a LOT of posts that you tagged safe that got changed to questionable, so I'm not going to go through them all. If you have specific ones you have questions about, you can bring them up here.

Something like this feels Safe to me (although it has been changed to questionable)

Im more resolute in how I tag things (is resolute even the right word?) but honestly that's just me

I appreciate the tips tho, thank you for responding

for one, if it's clearly made to appeals to sexuality or a fetish, it's never gonna be rating:s. so, like embarrassment/humiliation stuff like this:
post #6035185 post #5947088 post #5948437
and stuff that focusses on a body part in a fetishizing way like this (this is often gonna be feet, but not always):
post #6004263 post #6010856(this one's also macro and crush)
pin-up posing like:
and also, all this convenient censorship stuff of the girls bathing or whatever:

just like, rule of thumb:
if the subject matter is something that would be awkward if your mom/your boss/a coworker/a stranger saw you looking at, it's gonna be at least questionable.

Actually, YOU tagged it as Questionable. Even the original, which was also uploaded by you, was also tagged Questionable.

Anyways, I think Questionable is the safer option. At the same time, if I saw it tagged Safe, I wouldn't go out of my way to change it.

Ah forgot I did that... My bad, if you think it's the safer option than I most likely won't change it

Perhaps the safest option is too make my own forum thread (or another forum thread) to ask people if I'm not too sure about what to rate things
