Topic: Copyright tag for audio use?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Been here years but new to the forum and being more active in tagging.

I left a comment on post #5943018 about a month ago asking the same but it got buried there, so I'm asking here. If an animation uses just audio from a particular media entity, and it's recognisable as being from that media, should this be reflected by adding a copyright tag or does that just mess up the tagging system?

That's a curious edge case; I want to say it should be, but to my knowledge, no tags are supposed to correspond to the audio at all (yes, I find it questionable too), so I'd assume the answer is no. I'm not 100% confident in that though.

In general, we do not tag anything that comes from audio, especially copyright tags for specific song names.
I believe the same would apply for recognisable music or soundtrack from specific franchises.

While TWYS generally applies to the general tags, it is still partially applied to copyright tags in that we would expect to visually see something from that franchise when using the related tags.
