Topic: Search query to only get posts that have tags in the copyright group?

Posted under General

Is there an imput I can put into the search bar in order to only see posts that have tags in the copyright group?

I tried *_(copyright), but most copyright tags don't actually have _(copyright) after them and are simply tags within the copyright group.

I want to look at only the posts in my favorites that have copyrights, e.g, zootopia, helluva_boss, five_nights_at_freddy's, etc, without having to search those copyrights individually, but I don't know how or if it's even possible.

"Copytags:1..6" works really well, though, what can I add to make it ascend or descend from two numbers?

So sort you'll need the order: keyword. I really don't know what "from two numbers" is supposed to refer to, so I can't help with that. see here

I assume they mean the opposite of the range, so less than X and greater than Y, but not between X and Y
Which I think is possible with ~copytags:<X ~copytags:>Y, but YMMV, both specifying the same metatag multiple times and ORing values is always a gamble on if it works right individually, let alone together

Wouldn't it be easier to just negate the range? At a quick glance -copytags:0..2 seems to only be returning results with 3 or more copyright tags.

Uh, like, ascending or descending in order from 1-9. So, like, in order, posts with 1 copytag, then 2, then 3, etc, and vice-versa for descending, probably.

...I spent hours on that cheatsheet. I'd recommend you read it before asking questions about the post search; if the answer isn't already on there, tell me & I'll probably add it.

I'm so sorry, I'm not a computer guy so there's a lot I don't understand, I thought it might've been easier to just ask directly.

P.s. And I'm kind of retarded.

If it's too confusing to be accessible, that's also useful feedback in helping it achieve its goal. You don't have to, but the point of the cheatsheet is to help novice users who don't want to wait for someone to answer can answer these kinds of questions on their own, so if that's not working, it'd be helpful to know why.

P.s. It doesn't really matter, but you don't have to make a separate post to respond to multiple people; you can it Reply, type your response, hit Reply on the 2nd post, & then type your response to that. For example:

order:copyright_tags_asc

This will achieve the desired result, but if that's difficult to remember, you can also invert the search order by negating it; e.g. order:copyright_tags_asc is the same as -order:copyright_tags_desc. Additionally, if the difference between copytags & order:copyright_tags is confusing, you can also use order:copytags_asc or -order:copytags instead of order:copyright_tags_asc or -order:copyright_tags; all 4 are equivalent. The full list of all possible orders, grouped by which are equivalent & opposite, is linked here.

To eliminate all potential for confusion, I'll put it all together for you.

To search posts with 1 to 9 copyright tags, ordered from fewest copyright tags to most copyright tags, you can search copytags:1..9 order:copytags_asc, & searching copytags:1..9 order:copytags_desc does the same, but ordered from most copyright tags to fewest copyright tags.

I'm going to be honest, it's 100% a me problem, some of the terminology I don't know, and I was too lazy to look it up. The cheatsheet is actually really well made, the one real problem I had with it is that a lot of the time it'll push the end of a word down making it awkward to read:

Sorry it caused so much trouble, I'm just really incompetent when it comes to certain things.

No trouble at all, I'm here to help people with these matters. I'll see about tweaking the page margins to improve readability.
