Topic: Why do furries draw dicks better?

Posted under General

How come so many non-furry artists can't draw human dick? Especially anime artists. I swear it's like they've never seen one before. Is this stylization? Exaggeration? Who finds that appealing? If they were drawn too simple it would make sense. Not much point putting in effort when the focus is on the woman. But they're not under-detailed, they're over-detailed and those details are completely wrong. How is anyone supposed to enjoy art of her jacking off the POV character when the dick is an abstract sculpture crafted from clay by someone who hates penis?

More queer artists that aren't scared of studying how to draw better dicks.

My secret is that I go out of my way to not draw human penises because they are very difficult and I don't like drawing them. I am the furry that cannot draw human dicks at all. Look at my tentacles boy

In all seriousness, furries aren't any better at collectively drawing human penises than any other group of artists. I've seen a pretty sizeable share of furs who draw human dicks just as exaggerated, veiny, and wrinkly as hentai artists do. And I've seen a sizeable share of hentai artists who draw pretty good looking human dicks.

There's some interest to be found in the grotesque and I feel like the exaggerated penis design falls into that. My hypothesis for the reason why so many drawn penises are so weird looking is a sort of subconscious humiliation/degradation/power fantasy thing. I've seen it lots in "ugly monster and beautiful woman" art; the beautiful woman is taken down to a level of filth and depravity represented by a hideous monster, and if you go looking for it you'll definitely find a bunch of it [such as in themes like insectophilia.] Interest in the gross and deformed turns into various subconscious [or fully conscious] kinks.

So regarding that, I don't think it's supposed to be a self insert of someone who thinks that their penis is beautiful. There's a huge culture of artistic escapism where someone who is nothing, or who is "hideous", can find love and sex in very unlikely situations, or can get an escapist fantasy where they get the ideal woman who will have sex with them no matter what they look like. I think there's value for ugly penises in art because of something like this. Sometimes, someone's penis is just really ugly. Cultural context and history gradually mutates into fetish, and fetish mutates into stranger fetish until we get things like post #3265215.

Do I think these sorts of penises are appealing or attractive? No, not really. But I do think they're very interesting and a very present representation of current artistic and pornographic culture. They're valuable in their own right and I like knowing they exist.

I think unique penis shapes can have "personality". Like when a skinny character has a long and thin penis, or how a very effeminate character might have a tiny penis. It matches their personality and makes them more interesting as a character design.

Hyper/grotesque is a weird thing (speaking as a professional hyper enthusiast) because I feel like it's more about the process of going bigger and bigger rather than simply having really big boobs or something. Like expansion but in a more meta way? Like the enjoyment is derived simply from seeing how far you can go and how weird you can get.

Man, I'd love to be a researcher on a psychological study for fantasy fetishes. Hearing testaments like this is so interesting.

I think part of it is that, in furry art, you only need to draw a humanoid penis (or any other penis, for that matter) if you're good at drawing a humanoid penis. in human-only porn, you don't have a choice.

in furry stuff you can pretty much just do like a > coming out of a sheath or a slit on just about any body, and no one will even question it being a penis.
