Topic: Why do people keep making blank wiki entries?

Posted under General

I see this time and time again, there's something in the recent edits sidebar that looks interesting, I click it, and it's just blank. Sometimes there's not even any posts. Is it possible to create a new wiki page, type absolutely nothing into the text box, and submit it? If so, why, and why do people keep doing it?

changing category in the wiki editor maybe?

Link some of those wiki pages here to see the edit history, please. Maybe it is just a user very very bored.

I was able to find record from there of me making a blank wiki page from when I made a new character tag. So it's probably just a byproduct of people making new tags or editing tag types.

That's what I thought at first too, but I've definitely made some new character tags and then changed their type, and I don't remember ever seeing them in the wiki sidebar afterwards. Also, wiki pages have to be created manually. There are tags you can search for on the wiki and it'll just be like "no results found."

Here are some recent ones that haven't even been changed off their default type:

And some that have:

https://e621.net/wiki_pages/85759

Update: OK so I followed a hunch and decided to see what would happen if I did a search for a tag that has posts but no wiki entry, and then click its "?" instead of searching for it ON the wiki. It led to a different page this time, almost exactly the same as the one for blank entries, except there's no History link at the top because of course there's no page for there to be a history of. Meanwhile, searching for any of the above tags gets properly autocompleted.

If you go to a wiki, press edit not edit tag category, then change the category and press submit, it will show in the sidebar
Actually if you press edit and then hit submit it will always make an entry no matter what you do
