Nothing, the ticket will get thrown out when a Mod reviews it. It's a common mistake.

the only thing you can do now is curl up in a corner and die from embarrassment.

They should really space out and Color code these buttons
so this doesn't happen as much as it does, Dood! ╹‿╹)

Like Reply can be green and Report could be red,
Better than putting to r words of about same length
next to each other, Dood =‿=)

honestly, just making the report button red to stand out from the rest of stuff would be a big change. I'd also make the "new ticket" form red as well, might make users double check.

a[href^="/tickets/new"] {
  padding: 2px;
  background-color: darkred;
  border-radius: 4px;
  color: white;
}
.new_ticket { background-color: darkred; }

I think people will still click on it regardless since the giant "You are reporting the following forum post", "Note: Abuse of this system will lead to disciplinary action", and "Submit Ticket" don't persuade them to double-check.

A better solution is to simply force them to choose between common report reasons (like with post reports).

the only reason you'd read the text is if you didn't already think you knew what you were about to do. just text isn't a sufficient warning, it's why warning signs on stuff look significantly different from informational signs, no one pays attention to plain white text on a plain white background unless they're already inclined to read the text. the site is absolutely covered in plain white text on a plain blue background, it being bold isn't really that much of an indicator of anything.

I mean, heck, most of the report page when reporting a comment is just the user's comment. that's certainly the most prominent part of the page other than the text area. the stuff unique to that page, or the fact that the page is even anything special to begin with, does not stand out in any way, shape, or form.

I use this CSS to move the report button out of the way. And since it's something that should be there by default, I'll submit it to e6 github.

dfn's got a point, Like how traffic signs work, Color coding things makes a really
big difference. Red is stop, Green is go, Color coding things here would really
make things flow!

Simplifies the simple by making things easier to spot on an instinctual level!
Also some space between the two options wouldn't hurt, Dood

If you file a false report by accident, please don't file a false report on purpose to say sorry that you made a report. It just makes more tickets for us to go through. Shit happens, it's fine.
