Topic: [Feature] Have the new favorite count star icon filled in/solid for user favorited posts but hollowed/an outline for normal

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

The new star icon looks great but I feel like it could also be used to indicate if a post in the search/tag results has been marked a favorite by the user. Like the score icon next to it is a hollow green outline of an up arrow instead of a solid shape. So if there were two versions of the favcount star then one could be hollow like that score arrow and be used for posts not added to the user's favorites and the other version could be a solid star shape for indicating the post is a favorite. Basically the same as the way the gold star looks now when viewing a post. Have the same favorite vs not favorited behavior for the star icon for both the results list and the post view. If that makes any sense? I'm definitely over explaining it, but I think it would be a nice little cosmetic detail and a way to indicate if something is a favorite of yours without going into it

Like the star icon is the only icon there that's a solid shape. The score and comment icons are hollow. So the star could be solid but only if it's a post the user favorited and be like the other icons when not

Yep, good idea. I would actually like to have that same feature for the score/vote as well. So that I can see if I already upvoted the post without having to open it.

The problem I see with that is: What if the post currently has a negative score, but I upvoted it? Or the other way around. Can't use the same icon hollow/solid for that as you can for the favorites... I guess that means your wish is more likely to be implemented than mine. Oh well, we can't have everything.

This is really easy to do with CSS, just add this to your custom styles

Oh wow, that worked exactly how I just described. Thanks so much! I've never really noticed that feature and wasn't aware I could tweak things like that. Still I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to make the design be that way by default
