Topic: so basically bad_parenting must be applied to every parent_and_child post as well, right? or am I missing something?

apparently I am missing something cause not every parent_and_child post is with bad_parenting. it seems like it's the case when it's all depicted like realistically

I think bad_parenting should apply only when there's parenting behavior that's bad, or visibly using their status/influence as a parent to do something bad, not simply a parent doing something bad. So a mother teaching their kid about sex would be parenting behavior, while using that teaching to have sex with them would be bad_parenting. But a father having sex with their kid isn't parenting behavior, so wouldn't be bad_parenting on its own.

parent_and_child is not a pairing tag, it just means that there is a parent and their child in the post.

we really ought to rename this tag at some point. because bad_parenting dosn't exactly explain what the tag is actually meant to be, which is closest to being "intentional corruption, neglect, or abuse of a developing child/ward done by an parent, elder family member, legal guardian, or equivalent." (and it needs to be this within the fiction of the post itself).

it's probably closer to, like, "bad_childrearing", but even that's not great. child_abuse has overlap but it brings up much different imagery.
