Use the Search Cheatsheet.
For example, searching for kazuhiro date:>2020-01-01 date:<2021-12-30 will show you posts from the artist posted between 1st Jan 2020 and 30th Dec 2021.

Do not assume that the year it was posted here on e6 is the same as the year the artwork is made.
If you intend to tag the year tags on posts (e.g., 2025, 2024, etc.), you need to check the source of the artwork and see when it was posted by the artist.
Do not use the year tags to tag when something is posted here on e6, that is not how the tags are supposed to be used.

It's also best not to assume the year it was posted at the source is the same year the artwork was made. It's not unusual for artists to make art they don't post, but can decide months or years later to post it. Sometimes it happens on accident (they meant to post it, but forget), other times on purpose. And especially for artists that have a Patreon or SubscribeStar, the art can have been originally posted to there months or even years before the public release. I've seen a fair bit of art get tagged with the year it was posted, when the source and the copied description explicitly say it was made the year prior. I've also seen a fair bit of art get tagged with the year it was posted, when there's no indication anywhere when it was made.
Generally, unless the art itself has a created/copyright year written on it, or the description expressly says when it was made, I'd leave off the year tag.

Although even the dates written on the images can't always be relied upon:
I think we might need to create an intentionally_misleading_copyright_date tag, just for Rattfood!
