I think I'd be a useful janitor.
I got mod experience on Reddit and think I would be good here. I could help clean up duplicate posts, flagged posts, handle replacements, and other general janny duties to keep the site running smoothly.
This account isn't super old, but I've been around on this site a long long time and am pretty familiar with its functions.
Staff drives are held when new staff are needed, I wouldn't bank on another drive for another 6 months or a year, if not more
On site activity is considered more than any off site qualifications, so it would be a good idea to start being active around the site if you plan on applying next time they open

While I personally have no authoritative sway, I'd say just in
case janitors aren't hiring, You could always shoot for Privileged
in the meantime while a position opens up, Dood!

From what I've seen here the best way to start off on the right foot is to
do what you can with the account you have right now. Normal accounts
have a lot of power here compared to most sites, Ya know, Dood?
Getting into tagging would be great! Would show you have the drive,
Initiative and willingness to help others with the powers you have now, Dood!

Though heads up, Tagging alone won't see results till the 10k mark (maybe),
You'd also need an even split of ticketing responsibly, too, Dood!

We look for a variety of experience that shows an understanding of the site, which can only be gotten by time and effort – good tagging, good uploading, an understanding of the various guidelines, good reporting and flagging habits, thoughtful and helpful commenting on posts and on the forums, a willingness to learn from your mistakes, no records on your profile, pretty much the expected. Furthermore, the more positive presence you have on the site, the better we have of understanding you, to see if you'd be a good fit for the overall personality of the staff.

Being a known name (for positive actions) among the staff will do wonders for your chances
If no one has ever heard of you or has no opinion of you, then there's really not much to go off of but data
iirc my high post edit count was a huge factor in being considered, as well as no one on staff having a negative view of me (though I dont believe anyone really had much of a positive view either, since I didn't talk much)
I also had experience in moderating discord and my own sites, so while external experience will not get you all the way it also can't hurt
