Certain LLMs and bots have the capability of imitating styles of speech. There's a lot of gimmick bots on places such as Tumblr and Twitter, like nostalgabraist-autoresponder that are trained on posts and messages by a certain person. I imagine it's like that.
Don't forget that chat bots like ChatGPT are a thing now. It just takes a lot of dedication to get one trained up to that level of sophistication, and I hear tell Rainbow gets lonely some nights...

I have a really hard time believing that an LLM would be able to do all the stuff that Cinder does.
I think it's much more likely that Cinder is actually a more advanced form of artificial intelligence a meant to emulate actual brain functions of a living being rather than just mimic speech.
I'm almost certain it's just a bit.

My apologies for the 2001 thing. I was attempting a joke that Cinder was actually a rogue AI, which is a major plot point in the story.
It's a sporadic joke that Cinder is a computer, but it's not actually true. People mostly play along with it because it's kind of amusing.

I also find it hilarious that people who are warned/banned by Cinder would rather assume the joke is real, and that they are a chatbot or AI who 'wrongly warned/banned me' instead of accepting the consequences of their own actions.
Like, I'm autistic, and I am VERY literal-minded & miss jokes by miles. But after seeing a few of Cinder's comments, my thought was 'This is a person and their bio is a silly joke'. Not 'This is an ultra advanced AI better trained than even ChatGPT being used on a furry image booru to moderate people'.
