Topic: Create a lore for VRChat models

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

It has come to my attention, in fact for a while now, that people are using VRChat and VRChat_Model tags improperly.

According to Tag_What_You_See, those tags are used merely as informative from outside knowledge and information and not actually depicting what is visible on an image, since you cannot affirm from look alone that model may be used on the VRChat platform.

I have already made a request in the past on these forums to clear up the misused tags, but it has since gone dark and left without care.

I make this request again, at least so people can tag VRChat-related posts in the future properly.

I thus make this request to see if it could be possible to create an alias of vrchat_model into a lore tag, since it's merely based on outside knowledge and information and not actually depicting what's on the image.

Also making this request to get people to stop using the VRChat tag alone for these posts since, again, it's a copyright tag and all those models (except VRCat and VRRat mascots) are not actually owned by VRChat, nor contains visible elements from the platform (such as UI, or screenshots, or brand name/logo).

I feel like this should had been handled from the beginning when the first few tags of it appeared, but again, it has been left unattended for so long.

This isn't what lore tags are for, they are not the dumping ground for anything that is not strictly TWYS

Anything can be a vrchat model, a tag for this might as well not exist in any capacity because it would be useless
We also don't accept screenshots so I don't see the point of a tag for this, these things have to be rendered in something like blender so vrchat likely isn't even involved, just because that model can be used in vrchat or was originally used in vrchat doesn't make it a vrchat model

These tags would be more like Meta than Lore. Lore is for tagging information about the characters in the picture that isn't TWYS. Meta is for tagging information about the picture itself that isn't TWYS. VRChat models would fall into the latter, assuming we decide to tag them.

I see, I confused meta and lore, my apology. But yeah, I seen them getting tagged in general and I feel like they should be more categorized, or non existant

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. At most, it would be 3d_(artwork) and tagged with contributor for the artist who modeled the model.
I do find vrchat_model reduntant in this context since you can already use a bunch of other existing tags to find particular things.

Ok, so then what tag should be used on the vrchat models? vrchat_model_(meta)? If not, then can the Blocklist be made bigger? I have no more room in my Blocklist (yes I block a lot).

The blacklist is 150,000 characters, that should be more than enough
Find more generalized tags to blacklist if you're hitting that limit
