I agree with your alias request. I don't think this tag is really necessary: snake_girl

What about the terms lamia and naga? Lamia being female and naga being male. Just "snake" would be different than the half humanoid half snake that a lamia is

...what point are you trying to articulate here?

lamia and naga already have defined meanings on this site that have nothing to do with male or female:

lamia: An apode, split form creature with the bottom half of a snake. The top half, while traditionally humanoid, can be any anthro non-snake species

naga: An apode creature with an anthro upper body that moves around on a "snake-like" lower body of the same species.

I've literally never heard of these being considered genderd terms.

I think they are trying to say that snake_girl could also generically refer to lamias or nagas.
A simple Google search of "snake girl" will also return many results that is not an anthro snake.

Yeah, like whenever I hear "snake girl" I think of a lamia and not a feral snake that happens to be a female. Also I was kinda thinking in like rpg game terms. The lamia enemy is usually a female half snake half woman monster. But I'm probably wrong about the term naga. While in SMT/Persona the naga enemies are all male in Chrono Trigger there are naga too but they're female. I don't usually see a lamia that's male. Unless it's a lamia character from an anime/manga that's been genderbent or something

But anyway sorry for any added confusion I may have caused. I do agree with OP on (species)_girl of anything being unnecessary. Just snake tag along with female tag would be sufficient if it was an anthro (or feral) snake that's not particularly half human or whatever
