Hello all, I'm a bit new (account says I joined years ago but I actually visit this site once in a blue moon) and I'm not quite sure what the stance on "genus" implications is because sometimes it's done and sometimes it isn't, but this is an implication imply a bunch of gull species to their genus and implying those genera to "gull". For the unaware the family Laridae includes gulls, terns and the like. All gulls are Laridae but not all Laridae are gulls. Apperently people named a "subfamily" for all the gull genera, but instead of using the latin name for that here it's better to just use "gull", since it's essentially just the "Laridae that are gulls" family. This is just all the gull species taken from wikipedia and doing some checking everything seems fine. Only exception being that 1) for some reason kittiwakes (genus: rissa) are included in the wiki list and I'm not sure those are "considered" gulls. So kittiwakes are NOT included in this bur just in case and 2) European vs american herring gulls are just "herring gull" on this bur (debate about them being subspecies)
EDIT:There's an artist already called "larus" (by far the biggest genus). Bur to alias that here https://e621.net/bulk_update_requests/12272. I know the artist tag came first but I'm guessing actual scientific take priority.
Because of sheer length this was split into 3 parts. If people don't like genus level implication, below those 3 is an alternate version of this bur to just imply all of these directly to "gull" instead.
