Topic: "Locked" tag?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Context: https://e621.net/posts/3107595
Tag: tree
Reason: These are bushes, not trees.
Error: "tree tag is locked and can not be removed" (not quoted verbatim).

I didn't even know tags could be locked. Does this happen because someone tried to remove it, and the request was rejected, and then it was locked behind the scenes? I believe these are bushes, based on the lack of trunks or any shadows from overhead foliage.

For a little additional content, these are the tags I added:
{abstract_background, abstract_colors, bare_shoulders, barely_visible_nipples, bottomless, convenient_censorship, day, glistening_body, grass, green_body, green_sclera, green_skin, handle, hat_band, non_sexual_nudity, pupils, red_pupils, rock, shaded, shaded_face, shimmering, shoulder_length_hair, shrub, signature, sitting, sitting_in_bathtub, sitting_in_water, small_feet, sun_hat, sunlight, thick_thighs, toes, topless, water, water_reflection, wide_eyed}

Note: I did my best to double-check the accuracy of each tag before adding it. I just wanted to make sure the work is tagged well enough to be located again.

It's tagged as forest, which implies tree. To remove tree tag, you need to first remove the tag that implies tree.

There are locked tags, and admins can lock a tag onto or off a post. However this is not the case here.

Tree is being implied by something else, and so you can't remove it until what's implying it has been removed.

btw you are not required to provide reasons when editing a post, they're usually used for more contentious additions/removals

Hey did you know you can view tag history for a post with Tags/Desc

Updated

Why did you remove valid tags from the post? You removed female, barely visible pussy and pussy, all which are present.

pussy and its derivative tags got renamed to vulva/vagina
As for female, who knows

Removed tags? I don't think I removed anything, but Ill double check! I kept a list of the original tags.
Update: I added " barely_visible_pussy" but it was auto-updated. "Female" is there now, so yeah.

And if "tree" is being implied by another tag that's fine, but I was under the impression that tags are for what's visible, not what's off screen.
Either way, thank you. I just wanted to help improve the tags, as I found it impossible to locate the image via searches.
And I always provide a reason, because I don't know how it's documented, but wanted to let people know what I changed, so it could be reviewed effectively.

Oh and also topless and bottomless tags should not be applied on images of characters that have entirely nude bodies. Topless is for characters that are wearing bottomwear but no topwear, and bottomless is for the other way around.

Anyways since we're scrutinising this guy's tags, do we really want a non sexual nudity tag

I believe this is nonsexual nudity. It's bathing; any sexuality is from the viewer, not the character.
As for the topless/bottomless, I checked for other examples and found a bunch, so I figured why not, but I don't mind if those are updated, but I do believe this is nonsexual.

I hear where you're coming from, but casual nudity is when you're around other people and the nudity doesn't matter. This person is bathing, which tells us that their nudity in the presence of another person is not consensual, nor is it sexual. If they were bathing with another person intentionally in a non-sexual way, you would absolutely be right, but I think the look on the character's face tells us that this exposure was not intentional.

Alright, I see the niche. Not a particularly good name for it though. The other 7 posts are just casual_nudity

Ha, I agree. It lies in the valley of forgotten tags. From what I've heard, this happened because the American rating system really doesn't like non-sexual nudity, so it gets graded pretty harshly. Subsequently, the public doesn't see it. We usually get content that entirely avoids it, or leans into it wholeheartedly, because there's usually very little to gain for a content creator that makes it. It used to be much more common though, with statues and other forms of artwork that depicts the human form. I hear Dragon Ball is currently getting banned in some areas because it depicts nudity.
