Topic: Can the old "order:rank" sort return as legacy coded search sort?

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Hi, I love the old "order:rank", it was the best feature for finding out good potential artists to follow and favorite.

If popular page is just order:favcount + date:day

Then the new "order:hot" is essentially just order:score + date:48_hours_ago

To some extent, some good artists gets actually hidden down with the new "order:hot" scoring system and both "hot" & "popular" pages feels samey without the randomness it gives.

I read somewhere how it uses some formula, a code to why old "order:rank" feels so random and why some of them sticks for 1-3 days after being uploaded.

So yeah, this is a great sorting tool. Please let the old "order:rank" code see another light (◡ ω ◡)

it dosn't seem like order:hot is working properly, from reading how it's supposed to work on the GitHub. it's supposed to work more or less identical to how rank worked previously, but right now it's not taking age of the post into account at all.

the only time its order is different from order:score is when the posts have identical scores. although, when this is the case, it appears that it tends to put older posts higher on the list, which is the exact opposite of what it's supposed to be doing.
