Topic: Sun site like e6ai for irl fursuit content

Posted under General

I recently found out about the existence of e6ai for ai generated content, but I was wondering if there was a similar site for fursuit content, like e6irl or something, because I can’t find anything like it

not run by e6 or affiliated but there's https://www.furtrack.com/

This site however does not allow nsfw content, because that is horrendous to moderate, store, and because of legal shenanigans

Fursuit content is also extremely available, that furtrack site went from 300,000 posts to 1,300,000 posts in about 2 years, though I'm not sure about the actual post count since a lot seem to be missing

It's worth saying that e6ai uses a forked version of our open source codebase that they manually update when we push an update. There's nothing stopping any random person/people from doing the same for any similar enough site they want (aside from money, time, & manpower to moderate the site, of course).

P.S. Just to clarify, although e6ai has the same owners as e621, the staff of e621 are not the same as e6ai, & the 2 sites operate almost entirely independently. This is not the case for e926, which is run by the same staff.

I get what you mean, but it doesn't seem to be entirely true. (Though I may be a bit pedantic here)
Three of the admins on here are also admins over there and one janitor on e6ai is a former staff here.

Isn't e926 just the same as e621 with a forced rating:safe filter?
As far as I can tell both sites run on the same database.

A little pedantic, but I see no harm it that.

If you'll indulge my own pedantry
  • In total, there's 8 staff/former staff in common (the first 7 after the auto mod & Cinder)
  • You'll notice that (w/ 1 exception) they all started there, with a lull before more staff joined, & have all almost completely stopped their activity on e6ai
  • Looking at their stats, they've never been very active compared to the average user (especially in uploading)
  • The only other staff that joined after the beginning (Cinder) is the main dev for e621 & handles integrating updates to e6 into e6ai; they also have 0 uploads & 7 edits

The long answer is that a few of our most senior staff members got it started for BD before finding homegrown staff to moderate the site. e6ai's head admin, Jelloponies, used to be in our staff Discord for e621; they aren't anymore b/c e6ai's staff aren't encompassed by e621 anymore.

The short answer is that e6ai has left our nest; they're on their own. I can understand the confusion (hence my attempt to clarify), but we're actively trying to draw a clearer line between us.

So I'll reiterate; e621's site staff do not run e6ai; they have their own staff & do their own thing. At most we contribute technical support & make awkward small talk at family get-togethers. We're more closely related to e6ai than F-List, but that doesn't mean much. I don't have an account on e6ai, much less moderation powers, & the same is true for most e6212 staff. The opposite is also true for most e6ai staff; if they have an account here, it's likely a standard one.

Yes, but many non-technical users might not get that.

Ah, interesting. Thanks for the clarification.
I'm a bit curious though why some of the e621 admins (except Cinder) have kept their admin status on e6ai to this day, despite not really being active there.
Though I guess its just to help e6ai staff should they need assistance with something.

It's mostly because the documentation could use some updating, but nobody's yet gotten around to make the changes.
