Topic: Have troubles with my new username not being changed in google search and duckduckgo

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

So I changed my username, but when searching up my previous one, it still shows up when I don't want it to cause someone found out about the username and I don't want them to find out about this account. Lol

This applies in the site Rule34 (which I never made an account on) and it's still stuck with my old account.

Would it fix itself overtime or am I screwed?

Yeah, we have zero control over search engine indexing. Eventually, they'll reindex the relevant pages & the old entries will disappear from results.

Well that's good to know, thanks! Also, what about Rule34? would that change automatically?

If Rule34 is crediting you as an artist or mentioning you in sources, comments, etc., there is no reason that would ever change.

Is there any way to report it or simply delete the account, or change the username, even if I don't have a rule34 account?

Even if I delete those comments, they'll still be there?

They'll still appear in other people's comments since it's been copied as part of their comment. However, you can message an admin about that; I've seen them modify comments quoting users' old names before.

Though if your name is a rather common word... like cat

You are asking questions that should be asked on the Rule34 forum. Nobody here knows what they can do for you.

You will most likely be ignored though if the comments mentioning your previous name did not break any of their rules.
