Most artists are not interested in taking the time needed to learn our tagging
The vast majority of uploading is done by a small set of power users, it's easier for someone that already knows what they're doing to ask artists for permission to upload and just go from there

I think this might make the other person more receptive.

You can try to persuade the artist to post here themselves if you are confident enough, though they would need to learn about our uploading and tagging requirements.

Some artists do post here themselves if they are genuinely interested. Some personally doing it by hand while others using reposting programs like PostyBirb to post their artworks into all of their galleries at once.
However, most of the time, they are either uninterested or could not spare the time or effort to post here, which is why the main bulk of uploads here are done by third-party uploaders who are not affiliated with the artist.

Also, most of the third-party uploaders do not even bother to ask the artist for permissions before reposting here since it is not a compulsory requirement.
However, this often leads to instances where it would upset the artist so much to the point that they request for all of their works to be removed and to be placed in the avoid_posting list.
