Topic: Should Sheathed/Flaccid tags apply to characters in Chastity?

First time forum post here.

I feel like the wiki entries for flaccid, fully_sheathed, and maybe other erection-state based tags like penis_tip should explicitly exclude characters who are chaste.

Tags like fully_sheathed are the sheath having equivalent of flaccid, but I noticed quite a few posts tagged both with sheathed_while_penetrated and chastity_cage, which seems redundant. Yes, while a chastity device may keep a penis sheathed/flaccid, it enforces this state, unlike the natural or non-arousal implied by the sheathed/flaccid tags.

Precedent exists with tags like cum_while_sheathed, cum_while_flaccid, and cum_while_chaste, which distinguish natural states from enforced chastity, so shouldn't this be a thing mentioned in the wiki definitions for the tags themselves? And, why not for the flaccid and fully_sheathed too?
Searching for " ( ~cum_while_sheathed ~cum_while_flaccid ) chastity_device " should reveal no results since the cum_while_chaste tag should be used instead, yet there are about 35 posts. " sheathed_while_penetrated chastity_device " yields over 150 results!
So clearly there's some confusion about if sheathed/flaccid tags apply to chaste characters.

Penises can (and do) get erect in chastity cages. If a character has a sheath and is wearing a cage they can absolutely be visibly unsheathed under their cage.

You can have an erection while wearing chastity and some of the caged males have their penis tip poking through their cage. (Edit: guess I took to long to type that)

Yes, but this isn't exactly what I'm trying to argue. (I've crossed out the part on first part I think mislead my point)

The usage of tags like sheathed_while_penetrated or cum_while_flaccid are for characters who are not erect despite the circumstances.
A chastity_cage's purpose is to prevent an erection, unlike the natural or non-arousal implied by the sheathed/flaccid tags.

Because of the usage of the tags, their implications, and precedent with different cum_while_* tags, shouldn't the wiki entries for those cum_while_* tags and sheathed_while_* include that you should use the *_chaste tag for chaste characters?

The application of the tags is not redundant because not all characters wearing chastity devices will be sheathed or flaccid:

The one thing I'll give you is that depending on the style of the device, it can be hard, if not impossible, to tell if a character is flaccid or erect, and in these cases neither should be tagged.

The purpose of a chastity cage is to preserve chastity/prevent intercourse, hence the name; the typical mechanism used to achieved this simply also restricts erections. Regsmutt did a great job illustrating that not all cages restrict erections to achieve chastity.

Firstly, you can link a tag search like this: {{( ~cum_while_sheathed ~cum_while_flaccid ) chastity_device}} -> ( ~cum_while_sheathed ~cum_while_flaccid ) chastity_device
Secondly, let's take a look at the current 1st result for that search.

As you can see, this canid is clearly cumming while both sheathed & locked in a chastity_device.

It's not redundant, as again, characters can be sheathed, but if it was, for the benefit of users searching for sheathed_while_penetrated without chastity_cage, we would still want to tag both. Compare it to species implications; a tiger is a felid, but we tag both so users can search for all felids.

Thank You! I'd looked at the DText wiki to try and find such, didn't see it, but low and behold it's there.

Regsmutt's examples are quite.. exceptional hah.

It's also clear that, despite it still feeling wrong, that the semantics do matter.
Similarly, I may not like that a hotdog is legally a sandwich, but it fits all the definitions, and making an exception in what a sandwich is specifically for the hotdog would be weird in it's own right.

I guess me just having to add -chastity_device to a search isn't enough of a hassle to care more about XD
