Why does e621 have it's own unique icon on the iPod Touch 4th generation?
For example on my old Android device (running Android 9) it has a white background and is flat color but on the iPod it's just like all the other glassy icons and has a blue background.
It's nothing really important, I just find it odd.
I assume by "app" you mean whatever mechanism various browsers have to pin the site to your home screen

Additionally, different platforms can choose to render them differently. Think of it like a real photo; the photo is the same, but you can choose what frame you put it in.

They also might be referring to the PWA; it's working again.
