Topic: The anti-nsfw crusade coming to a youtube near you, also Fing AI of course!

Posted under General

Well not necessarily the worst thing so far in the most resent anti-nsfw crusade(NO MORE SECRETS TO THE HOLY BB) that is now speeding up across the world, it almost certainly is going be applicable to a large chuck of this community, if you watch too many kiddy shows, reblox, cartoons or anime you may be stuck being treated as a child by youtube....

Naturally if youtube is going to rely on ai for this others will as well, with no way out/fix the error but to publish your real id/'come out'.

Ever more enshittification of the internet.

I wonder if they will actually check ids, or if you could just make a fake one...

People are already using faces from video games to bypass facial age estimation. It's actually kinda hilarious.

Can't wait for some hacker to doxx a government official and then psycho to attempt to harm them. It will happen and I don't encourage it. It will happen though. Download odysee and upload there.

Gee, knowing YouTube, I'm sure the algorithm will work perfectly fine! Like when it identified the full version of "Furrýmon: Gotta Smash 'Em All" by The Chalkeaters as "for kids" content when first uploaded... This is fucking stupid.

honestly it already uses machine learning to figure our your age range. check out your google ad center and it'll be under privacy. mine was...sadly accurate. (I feel young damnit! I dont wanna be a grey muzzle!) plus my account itself is already 19 years old so

I already verified my age for youtube because the site loves to age restrict videos out the blue and don't elaborate. I'm using a US VPN so I should be good.

I, for one, would find it funny if an $80 billion dollar computer program reclassified me as a French baby because I watch too much Belfort & Lupin. I would probably just roll with it.

It already hit google (specifically google lens) a while ago. And most online image expanders that I've tried also flag for content.

It's not coming..it's already here.

Here's my idea to protest against YouTube: on the day before the age verification AI gets implemented, delete your channel.

I use one of my alts to put on videos for my niece when she visits, but it's also the primary account for my music. It'll be interesting trying to see AI parse a mix of Sesame Street, Miss Rachel, Deathcore, Harsh Power Noise, and Franzl Lang. Considering they've had my payment info for almost a decade and you need to be at least 16 to possess a credit card in your name if they try asking for ID verification I'll just switch to Spotify for my music (RIP Google play Music). Money talks. I have a feeling people that are actively paying services like that are going to be much less impacted, if at all, than people who aren't by the current wave of insanity.

Fucking abysmal. :|
I guess on the bright side, this asshole move on Google's end would perhaps give Odysee a bit of a boost in exposure so it becomes slightly less deserted.
