Use this weekend to search for a good VPN lol, you will need it for at least a decade...

I don't think we'll have a decade worth of time for VPN access to be honest maybe 2-3 years then that will be restricted.

Us in the UK will have to start asking Chinese people who use VPNs in China for advice.

You are half right, if even China can't block ALL VPNs...they can give you guys advice lol.

There is also a lot of jobs that needs VPN so they can't ban everything too.

honestly there are...are ridiculous amount of reasons why VPNs are here to stay so dont worry too much about that. it'd be like banning antivirus software at this point.

Not to mention VPN providers are huge lobbyists meaning they are practically protected by the government...honestly? cynic in me kinda thinks they may be partially behind these laws just to drive up their shares. but thats probably not true.

The UK is trying to weaken encryption here with Apple so I don't doubt VPNs will be a target.

I believe their confidence stems from the difficulty of actually enforcing it, not the desire; all the desire in the world ain't making shutting Tor down any more plausible.
