in the next decade or so I wonder if NSFW games and websites will start exclusively accepting cryptocurrency for payments, considering it's immune to payment processor bullshit (like this). I'd normally dismiss it but buyers of NSFW stuff are known to be unusually determined. just a thought...

I have a collection filled with games I wanted to check out at some point. Most of the creators aren't furry. Though some like Lustrationteam have furry games.
Sorry in advance for not sorting it but considering there's almost no devs which make exclusively or mainly furry games, it didn't make much sense to me.

It's actually quite easy to download browser games with the official itch.io client, and from there, it's then trivial to just zip up the downloaded files and archive them.

As for Echo (& it's ilk), it looks like translated (presumably fan-translated & incorrectly labeled) reposts weren't hit (1 here, 2 here). Unsurprising, but frustrating.

I honestly believe that any developers who've been a victim of this should be getting together and filing class action lawsuits. They might not be able to go after Visa and MasterCard directly, but they could potentially go after Collective Shout the activist group who pushed Visa and MasterCard into (potentially illegally) sabotaging legal businesses. Or even go after itch.io themselves in order to send a message to anyone else who might think of bending the knee.

Considering Visa and MasterCard hold a near-duopoly over card transactions worldwide, and they're both American companies... it would probably help the rest of the world all the same. Of course, they can still do it elsewhere, but it's the primarily the pressure from American activist groups that is making them do it.

At the end of the day, they'll do whatever makes them the most money. If nobody in <random country> gives a shit, they'll make more money if they permit it.

The game definitely did not contain real-life humans, AI-generated imagery designed to resemble real life humans or glorify sexual violence. The characters were not stated to be minors, but considering the art style, may have been interpreted to be? That really seems like a stretch, but itch.io may have just been complying with a barrage of takedowns from Collective Shout.

The game did contain incest, which appears in the list of content that cannot be sold, but not against the terms of what can be hosted.

The day before the takedown notice was published, StafiLynx published a devlog mentioning the download button being removed without notice.

I am not aware of anywhere that the public builds can still be downloaded, but builds for subscribers are still available on Patreon.
