Topic: Tag Alias: Forsaken -> Forsaken_(Character)

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

That is a bad alias.
Forsaken means other things than just your character.
Edit: Also, we denote character tags by tagging char:*tag*
The *tag*_(character) type tag only applies when the character name is the same as something else.
For instance the tag hammer and hammer_(character).

In this instance, the forsaken_(character) tag is a good one, though it needed to be made a character tag with the char: in front of it.
The alias is totally a bad idea though.

What Hammie said, Forsaken also refers to a faction of undead people in the warcraft universe.

We could probably remove forsake however because warcraft undead serves the same purpose for us.

Not to get nerdy but there is a difference between the forsaken and other undead in that universe :P

But ya, the "character:" before or "_(character)" after would likely serve it better :o

Yes, but forsaken neither includes all humanoid undead creatures, nor even all undead humans. It is, after all, a faction, and I don't recall we tag factions of videogame or other series.

True enough, although a search for them may be "warcraft undead human". There are undead bears and shit :P

I mean the sight does tag some things that are variations of things. For example "pinkemena" (or however you spell it) instead of like "pinkie_pie_(my_little_pony) emo" or "pinkie_pie_(my_little_pony) striaht_hair"

All semantics I guess. Just playing devil's advocate

Forsaken also could be the movie, the video game, or the group of characters from the Wheel of Time book series.
We may, or may not have images of them currently, but having an alias to this persons character for anything tagged "forsaken" is just a bad idea.

5 images = A lot???

If your character's full name is "Forsaken Spitfire" then you might be better off tagging it as that instead of the _(character) suffix. It seems super unlikely that you are the only character named "Forsaken" out there.

Forsaken is also:
*The Alias for the New World of Darkness Werewolf setting (Werewolf the Forsaken)
*The name of a Video game (Forsaken)
*The name of a Horror Movie (The Forsaken)

=> Contra.

I assume that the avatar you have is Forsaken, right? also, nice pic! And by atryl!

An alias wouldn't be possible because, as Halite (previously known as Hammie) said, there are many "forsaken" tags that not only refer to your character and thus making everything tagged "forsaken" be tagged with your character's name, which is something you wouldn't want.

That said, a manual change of the tags is required (or with a script - I'd do this option but I'm on my phone right now, quite harder) changing them to Forsaken_(character) (using that because it is already in use) when the post needs it.

Edit: Replying to a 4 month dead thread!! :T

Well... As you can see from the tag, this alias got accepted.

It was a mistake, alias has been removed.

So far, the conversation seems to be against the alias due to the wide usage of "Forsaken".
