I'm not sure where this would go in a category, but, when I went to log in I was greeted with a prompt asking me to 'draw my fursona', but, uh... I'm not an artist. I can hardly draw stick figures, let alone what my fursona looks like. I know the site has rules regarding ai drawn images(not allowed), but can they at least be used by non-artist accounts for their avatars so long as those images are 'icon' only and not an uploadable/page displayed content? I know it's a longshot, but I have zero artistic talent, and getting your fursona drawn can be quite expensive, especially when you have specific tastes and don't want other artists using your image without your consent.

Like I said, I don't interact with artists anymore, therefore I can go off personal experiences since they stuck with me for a long time. Like you expect me to like every artist just because I like the art they make? That's not how things work, and I'm not willing to get hurt again just because you wanna be judgemental. Would that I had any artistic ability I'd have gladly done more that squiggle an "I can't draw" and then stickfigure a coyote, but then, I'm fairly autistic and didn't realize this was an April fools joke since it's still 3/31 here. Given that, however, I think interacting with the artists and the community is actually a good thing; and, like happyandobedientpup, I am concerned about privacy and having my fursona ripped and used without my consent, so I haven't bothered commissioning... but, despising the very community that provides said fappage seems a little dissonanced.

I am serious, though, I know ai 'art' isn't allowed but I wish there were a way for non-artist users to be able to upload an off-site image to use as their avatar, this way the image itself isn't being hosted here but the user could do so in order to represent themselves. Hard for a dishonest 'artist' to rip someone's avatar if the image itself is just an icon or similar low resolution/scale image.. Ah, but what do I know?

I'm not concerned it about it being stolen, I'm concerned about being bullied to death about my artstyle. I can't draw furries. Plus I'm scared of being mocked by the commissioner if they find my old drawings.

the way that it currently works every image on the site uses the same system, which means you can blacklist any image, whether it's an avatar or not. if there were external avatars users wouldn't be able to blacklist them.

I mean, even if a few people didn't like your style, there are still dozens and maybe hundreds of thousands who might, they just haven't seen you yet. Never give on something you're passionate about. Who knows? Maybe one day people will look up to you for what you do

One of my fave past times is teaching people to draw! I taught my husband recently and with ever improvement he makes I get prouder and prouder!

We all start somewhere and no one deserves to be bullied for trying their best to learn something new! I’m sorry that people have hurt you, but never let people take away things you enjoy!

This is legit one of the sweetest things i've ever read on e6 what the heck. But yeah, you're right! We all gotta start somewhere, and ignore the people who try to hurt us for trying something new. We all start as beginners after all, and if you enjoy what you do, you'll naturally get better the more you do it!

I don't want to come off as rude, but i have sincere doubts it was the entirety of the art community, and more likely a few bad apples. You shouldn't let some bad people get in the way of your dreams. There are supportive people out there too, one such artist responded to you supportively in this very forum.

It's too late for me. This was back in middleschool and it still haunts me

I was really confused at first and a bit p-ed off, but I did just wake up from a nap and at the moment it is almost 9:30pm for me, so I did not even realize that it would be an april fools prank. Well done you got me, I usually dont get got, but I just woke up so it barely even counts anyways.

what do you mean you dont interact with artists? if you watch their content that in itself is interaction. the second you click on any post on this site you interacted with an artist.
