For what it's worth, the images aren't sent anywhere. They're only public if you choose to post them publicly; otherwise, nobody else sees a thing.

Any subject we could've reasonably chosen may have run the risk of inflaming insecurities. For some people, the site itself is a source of insecurity, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.

I think this one's mean, and it feels like that was the intention. and if it wasn't the intention then it was careless.

Then you'd just have a small selection of people getting it first, and Americans would have the joke spoiled for them almost an entire day ahead of them getting it. And I say this as someone who'd be getting the 'event' earlier than most people in the world, before you think I'm American.

April Fools is not that serious. It doesn't have to be some flawless implementation.
