Topic: Tags aliases: MLP OCs

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

If I remember correctly only official mlp characters should have *_(mlp) suffix after their names. Therefore some original characters need their name aliased to *_(character), or something else.

Suggested aliases:
Nyx_(mlp) -> nyx_(past_sins) (There are some other characters named like that.)
mariah_wolves_(mlp) -> mariah_wolves
belle_eve_(mlp) -> belle_eve
nightshade_(mlp) -> nightshade_(pluckyninja) (There are more characters named nightshade.)
captain_courage_(mlp) -> captain_courage
Aurora_(mlp) -> ? (There are more characters named aurora, and I have no idea how to name this one.)

There are more of them, and I'll probably update this topic later, but this are the most used tags I could find. I hope that none of them is official mlp character. (I don't know franchise that much.)

Sort of in relation to this, OC's don't get the friendship_is_magic tag either. Do you remember why we decided on that?

I don't know why exactly it was decided, but I know that I fully support this. When I search for fim I don't want to get only OC.

Now I'm making small wiki entries for official characters that don't have one, mostly copied from mlp.wikia.com, so it would be easier to find whether character is from the show or not.

MLP is a franchise, FIM is a show.
If it's "in the style of" MLP we tag it.
If it's not on the actual FIM show then it doesn't get the FIM tag.

Good to know. I'm in support of it as well, I just couldn't find the discussion where the decision was made.
