Topic: What happened to Cewljoke?

Posted under Art Talk

Cewljoke was one of my favorite artists, but all their art seem to have just vanished. What happened? And where are can I find more of their art.

If you looked at cewljoke status:deleted, you can see all the deleted posts and their sources (you have to check yourself whether they are still active or not).

The artist took their artwork down themselves for private reasons (see takedown #12244) almost 4 years ago and left it as conditional_dnp so that only they are allowed to post their work here.
However, they are unlikely to return since they have also deleted their account here (see user #196641).

So they went scorched earth? Their last post was 3 years ago, something bad must have happened if they did that. It's sad to see a great artist just burn all their lifes work. I hope they come back...

Sometimes, an artist/animator will go "professional", such as animating for a big upcoming movie. If they do, they usually scorch everything that they did up to that point, to protect themselves from potential prying eyes, and so that they can actually have a portfolio without needing to divulge that they made furry porn for a living.

It's why places like E621 exist; so that we can preserve things. However, if an artist wants things taken down, that's entirely within their right.
