Topic: [REJECTED] Defloration -> first time sex

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #10060 has been rejected.

remove alias first_time_sex (5) -> defloration (1420)
remove alias virginity_loss (0) -> defloration (1420)

Reason: I would like to reverse the alias created by alias #64268. "Defloration" is an odd-sounding term whose meaning is not 100% clear, and colloquially it has a connotation of female virginity loss specifically, making it a poor name for a universal tag.

After the existing aliases are removed, I would like to submit a second BUR consisting of the following:

alias defloration -> first_time_sex
alias loss_of_virginity -> first_time_sex
alias virginity_loss -> first_time_sex

I believe "first time sex" helps avoid some of the subjectivity surrounding virginity (as brought up in the "should virginity be a lore tag" discussion in topic #23515). It can reasonably be tagged for any kind of sex act without opening a debate of which sex acts officially "count" as virginity loss.

EDIT: The bulk update request #10060 (forum #435110) has been rejected by @Beholding.

Part of the problem I see is that first_time_sex is too easy to misuse for any time someone knows a character is having sex for the first time, even when there's nothing TWYS to indicate it (excluding text, which is considered external information). The tag typically relies on stuff like flower iconography, or a hymen being visibly broken, or blood leaking from a pussy (indicating a broken hymen). defloration works better to indicate a visible element in the image, as opposed to first_time_sex which just sounds like a statement of fact irrespective of what's visible. As it is, we got stuff like post #5116025 tagged with defloration, even though there's no sex going on (let alone anything visible indicating a loss of virginity), and changing the tag name like this I fear would make the problem worse.

A fair point. Should we prioritize changing it to a lore tag, then?

The tag is an incoherent mess. A lot of it is just young and/or forced content leading me to suspect people with this kink are adding it to any image they can project it onto. Blood is also a bad indicator because it's not always present in virginity loss (both real and fantasy) and can be present in rough or forced sex.
