Shouldn't the same happen to cat_girl rabbitgirl and other tags like that?

I say yes, I even made a thread suggesting it a while ago.
People didn't like the suggestion.

But why??, those tags are just the combination of an species (or ears) tag + female.

So according to others, a female human with cat ears and cat tail is considered it's own species...why can't we just tag it as human and cat_ears, etc?

Mostly the thread where I brought it up just never got any kind of admin attention.

Because its NOT a human. If you see something with animal ears and a tail, then its not human. Cat ears + tail = feline/neko

Now if say the cat ears where fake like a hair band, then animal_ears and the species would be accepted as its not a real feline person. Its just a human with fake ears on.

Again, if it has cat ears and a tail, it isnt human.

Sure, but then why can't we tag it as feline, it doesn't need a whole separate tag when other tags cover it.

They are tagged as feline already, the subspecies tag neko also applies as they are not human but cat like.

Yeah, it's just a mixture of human and cat, which is what all anthro cats are.
It doesn't deserve a separate tag just because it's closer to human that a lot of furry art.

This specific tag alias has been approved because gender based tags are generally not accepted

In regard to the tagging of species, we usually make a new tag for it when, true, other tags combined could cover it, but it makes for less tags needing to be entered to find that species. The reason we don't do it with gender (such as lioness, stud, etc) is because gender based terms are not as cut and dry and run into complications when there is no female/male word for a certain species that is different from the default word, and sometimes there are many different terms for the female/male of the species

In a nutshell: Species tags are easy to make consistent whereas gender based ones are difficult to keep consistent
