Topic: New tag: low_angle ?

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Wondering if using low_angle as a tag would be helpful/okay to start using.

I've concluded tagging with this would be easier than trying to do intersections on the pov tag, which isn't properly inclusive anyway. ( pov isn't always tagged when the viewer isn't shown because it can't always be determined whether there's actually a physical viewer there involved in any action, especially without dialog, additional context, etc. )

I would be interested in using low_angle because it's concise, and not really some codeword for anything else (it usually makes the subject seem a little in-charge, though that's about all).

I guess a few examples, just for precision:

Actually there's two competing sets of tags for it:

or

I prefer the from_above/from_below set because they're more straightforward, far less complicated to remember, they're shorter to type and I think they're also clearer tags for people reading it for the first time.

Personal opinion aside, the tag numbers show that the from_above/from_below tag set is far more popular and in far greater use than the worm's-eye_view/bird's-eye_view set. So based on that, I'd go with the from_above/from_below tag set. They should probably be suggested for aliasing one of these days. But until that happens, generally use the more popular form of the tag, all other things being equal.

I prefer from_below and from_above, the worm one is a bit complicated to remember, a month ago or so I found a pic with that view, I tried to tag worm eye view with no success (tried like 5 or 6 times and even tried searching for it), so I just gave up with that tag :/

Is there a chance we could add the following?

New Implication

Tag Implication: worm's-eye_view -> from_below

Reason: worm's-eye_view basically implies an extremely low-angle shot, so I'd expect it to be a subset of images tagged as from_below.

New Alias

Tag Alias: from_below -> low_angle_shot

Reason: it makes sense to add the cinematic descriptor to this type of shot, as it is well-recognized by most folks who have ever thought much about film, or taken many culture or film classes.

New Alias

Tag Alias: low_angle -> low_angle_shot

Reason: arguable both because it's still legible as a shorthand for this and also wikipedia does the exact same thing , redirecting from "low angle" to "low angle shot". Also: the linked page has contains furry things. Q.E.D.

Do I need to post these to separate threads, guys?
