Topic: [Feature] a soft blacklist

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

add a "soft blacklist."

what this does is mark a post thumbnail red if it contains tags you've added to this blacklist, it is similar to how revealed posts thumbnails appear when you deactivate the blacklisted tags hiding them with the little collapsible menu that is on some kinds of pages. the color of the marked posts for this soft blacklist may need to be different. i think its a neat feature for some who dont mind seeing posts that would have otherwise been hidden with the normal blacklist, because as long as its marked it would do its job for the one using it. also, it might be good for casually looking out for mistags; for example if animal_humanoid is in use, it may mark posts containing anthros that were mistagged as animal humanoids.

Um, that already exists…
Just turn your blacklist off.
The blacklisted posts show up with a red bar, as the rest remains blue.
I know because I have my blacklist turned off because I am editing tags. Even the posts I dislike still should have the correct tags added and the incorrect tags removed.

why would this need to be a seperate feature from what inactive blacklist items do now?

because it would be more convenient as to not have to turn them off, thats part of the idea

Really, this feels rather pointless. Either you need to see something or ya don't. Either you want to block something or ya don't. Toggling it's one click, maybe two if you have it collapsed.

As for the highlighting to find mistags thing, that won't work either, because often anthros and (actual) humanoids are in the same post, and also... why not just search for the tag combination if you're only on a quest to correct tags?

the thought was that since you could see the thumbnail, you can easily spot posts that are improperly tagged, so in that example if theres a post showing anthros but no humanoids but its tagged with the latter then it could be used to spot a mistag like that. also yea - its more so that those kinds of post get marked when it shows up in the wild while casually viewing, i didnt really think of it as something to be used to intentionally search for mistags.

yea, now that i think about it few people would make use of a "seeing marked posts instead of being hidden" feature lmao. i also guess it was something i thought would be useful in spite of the way it might be unnecessary or inefficient.

Wouldn't make more sense to call it a "greylist", but to differentiate it from the blacklist have it fade out the thumbnails instead of giving them the red border.
