I have come across it before in video games but I dont know the name. I cant seem to bring it up on search either. Are they socks or shoes?

Oh, searching foot support straps brings up stuff kinda like this. These things seem to be some sort of braces for feet. The products I find all seem to be for medical use but I wonder if its also used for general physical activities. Like another brace - the hand wraps are used in martial arts for example

Those seem to be based off the generic medieval leather footwear. I do not think there is any specific name for them, because every where I look, they are just referred as "medieval leather shoes/socks/boots".

I guess foot_wraps is the right tag for this, but the tag itself is kind of weird since a lot of posts dont have wraps on the foot, but on the upper ankle instead.

If you look closely the bottom ankle is exposed, and Ive seen things like it before in games so it made me wonder what it was

I own a pair of shoes that look a lot like this and the store called them "slouch boots." But when I look up slouch boots a lot of the results look pretty different
