I'm not so sure we should imply species to a characteristic. There's the problem of the species being identifiable, but say one of its legs is offscreen, so 6 legs wouldn't be applicable. Another scenario could be amputation, so they no longer have 6 legs.

And even if these examples don't count, the better alias destination is hexapod instead, since the wiki for 6_legs requires that it be unusual for them to have 6 legs

But the whole thing about hextaurs is that they have 6 legs. The species tag is named after the amount of legs. Due to TWYS, it would be weird to use the hextaur tag instead of just "taur" if the 6 legs are offscreen.

I can edit the BUR to "hexapod" instead.

Yeah, I don't see why this tag would get used if there wasn't a hexapod visible and taggable, barring mistags.
