ive way too often made some small typo on a tag and didnt notice it when double checking ending up creating a new tag on accident. if the preview final tags option had some extra colouration or whatever disclaimer when youre making a new tag (or for that matter adding a tag with 0 other posts) it would help avoid accidental creations of tags and less need of extra edits to clean those typos up.

something along the lines of "are you sure you want to create new tag {tagname}" after clicking upload could work too.

theoretically if said warning for creating a tag also pulled up a little drop down menu for the tag category, it could help users tag artists/characters for the first time correctly on initial upload.

is that not something that already happens when uploading? that's definitely a popup you get when editing a post and you populate a new/previously empty tag or an invalid category tag.

yes, but it happens specifically after uploading, so you always still have to go back and fix it with an extra edit.
