Topic: Disclaimer: Contains an artist BUR

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

mass update disclaimer -> disclaimer_(artist)
create alias disclaimer (88) -> disclaimer_(disambiguation) (0)
change category disclaimer_(disambiguation) (0) -> invalid

Reason: Disclaimer has been used to mean that the post contains a content warning, instead of just referring to the artist behind the tag. Looking at both disclaimer -source:*iscla* and it's tag history you can see it's been mistagged quite a bit.

There's also an unintended side effect of tags such as sound warning being in the artist category affecting how this tag is perceived, so it being in the artist category doesn't immediately feel off

Potential entries for the disambig page could be

There's also comic disclaimer with 7 posts and content disclaimer with 0. Should there be a way to tags things like post #4338392

A metadata (white) tag? Hmm, so there's an artist with this name. Why do people make names like this? BRB, going to make my artist tag am. :facepalm:

Well that's a tag that needs to be aliased.

I beg your pardon? I don't believe my post references or links to any artists using a meta tag as their artist tag

I was thinking that a tag like "content warning" or the like is. I was mistaken. It's like confusing censor bar as one, when actually, it's censored that is. Sorry for the confusion.

And yeah, I was at first intending AM tag to be a joke as randomly Google-resistant artist name, and then oh look, ironically appropriate example but it's a character, instead.

*edit* Fixed both character names, too.

Replaced it with already existing (and correct+more-used) tags that had the full names.

The bulk update request #8597 is pending approval.

change category disclaimer (88) -> invalid
change category content_disclaimer (3) -> meta
create alias comic_disclaimer (9) -> content_disclaimer (3)
create alias animation_disclaimer (0) -> content_disclaimer (3)
create alias content_warning (111) -> content_disclaimer (3)
create alias warning_page (0) -> content_disclaimer (3)
create alias disclaimer_page (0) -> content_disclaimer (3)

Reason: Just a few additional tags to expand this BUR.

Using _disclaimer and setting to meta rather than content_warning as artist, like sound_warning and other _warning tags, as it would be likely to be misapplied to posts with extreme/uncommon content (gore, young, vore) or being abused by someone with posts they just don't like.

(Side note, unrelated, but I feel like sound_warning should be aliased to volume_warning due to, from what I've seen, a lot of posts without overly loud sound being tagged.)

These don't seem necessary. They're just comic+content_disclaimer and animated+content_disclaimer.

It's not necessarily about the volume, but when there's an unexpected sound that could either startle or be an issue for a viewer. For example, a video that starts off outside with calm wind, birds, a burbling brook, or other ambient noises, then after several seconds, snaps to a scene of characters having sex with moaning and slapping sounds at an otherwise normal volume. Or when a video starts off with quiet whispers, causing people to turn up their speakers or headphones, but then jumps to normal volume with the speakers/headphones turned way up. It doesn't have to be loud, just unexpected.

Yeah sound_warning really just becomes "has sound."

Meant for those to be aliases. Fixed.

A typo:

dirtyderg said:
create alias comic_disclaimer (9) -> content_disclaimer (3)
...
create alias warning_page (0) -> comic_disclaimer (9)

You can't have an alias target a tag that is aliased away.
