Parasprite's Foolproof* Guide to Streaming Live:

  • Step #1. Get a webcam or other video camera (preferably a dedicated camera as opposed to your laptop's built-in one)
  • Step #2. Visit livestream.com. Go to step #4
  • Step #3. Google "alternatives to livestream" or similar to find a different website
  • Step #4. Find out out if this website makes you pay money (go to step #4a) or is free to use (go to step #5)
    • a. If you have money and don't mind paying, go to step #5. Otherwise, go to step #3
  • Step #5
    • a. Go to the website's FAQ/Get started/whatever their version of this button is and read about how to stream live
    • b. Find out if you have to install software.
    • c. If they don't have software to install, skip to step #7. Otherwise continue to step #5d.
    • d. Find out if they make the software for your OS. If they make it for your OS continue to step #5e. If they don't make it for your OS either 1) Find a different OS that they do support or 2) go to step #3.
    • e. Scan the software for malware/viruses/etc. first. If it's not clean, go to step #3. If it's clean continue to the next step.
    • f. Install the software.
  • Step #6. Create account (pay money if applicable)
  • Step #7. Stream live

Disclosure: I've been to livestream.com...like... once to watch a person stream for like 5 minutes, and I've never used it since. I've probably used a webcam for about twice as long.

While mutisija is right, it can get rather complicated and confusing even with proper research. For example, one of the most popular stream capture programs DOESN'T work with photoshop, at all, but you wouldn't know that until after you've installed it and fiddled with it, started pulling your hair out as to why it's not working. In short, I use www.Picarto.tv because it has free or paid options, is welcoming to adult art/hentai, and because it has a walkthrough of what to do to start streaming. Protip, if you use PS don't use Open Broadcaster, but XSplit works very well.

All of the software/sites I mentioned are free, btw.
