I enjoy tagging memes. I don't know why, it's just fun to me to collect them all and find them in the wild. However, currently the meme tag is a hot mess implication wise and there's a constantly expanding list of memes that don't imply it on top of the incorrect implications that currently exist.
At some point Danbooru updated their system for handling meme tags by making it so tags ending in *_(meme) would automatically tag meme. As a result, meme implications are handled without needing to manually request them as they appear, which is helpful given how fast new memes pop up. A lot of our meme tags already end in *_(meme) (though not all), and the Lore category system makes me think this should be possible in some way, since tags in that category are required to use *_(lore)?
(For reference, here's a DB thread about meme being autotagged: https://danbooru.donmai.us/forum_topics/19634)
So while it'd be a bit of a pain to change over highly populated existing tags (i.e. i_mean_breast_milk -> i_mean_breast_milk_(meme)), in the long run it would make handling memes much smoother.
Related, I do have a BUR intending on cleaning up the implications on meme here: topic #43544
As well as one looking to add implications to a bunch of memes that need it, something that wouldn't be required if a system like this was in place.
Edit: Also if we standardized all the meme tags it'd make finding untagged memes easier
