Topic: On the topic of pending approvals

Posted under General

Hi

I have some of my works that are awaiting approval for 22 days now and honestly I am afraid that it will get auto deleted, I dont want to post them again cos from what I understood that carries ramifications with it

I had some of my previous posts autodeleted cos they were "not meeting the quality standard" but some others got approved so I dont really understand how this works

I am aware that there are plenty of submissions in the queue and that the moderators are working on it as we speak, I am very thankful for it, I just dont want my works to be deleted

Thank you in advance

Honestly, I don't know enough about what art gets approved and doesn't to really say what the issue with your art is. To me it seems subjective, but I also understand that some level of subjectivity is required in judging the "quality" of art on an art archival site.

I can't really discern a difference in quality between what is and isn't approved out of your uploads currently, if that helps. So it seems logical to me that what hasn't been approved yet will still be approved. Today I spoke with someone who got their post approved mere hours before the 30 day deadline, so it DOES happen.

I know the nervousness about if something will get approved or not all too well, so even if I can't give any answers, I'd like to point out that at the end of the day e621 is just one website, and even if your art doesn't find its audience here that doesn't mean that you'll never find people who can appreciate your art or get the opportunity to grow more as an artist.

Don't take it too personally if something gets rejected for quality reasons, and if anything, try to use that as motivation to continue improving your skill until your stuff will undeniably always be approved.

You don't have to worry until 27 days have passed, at which time, you can contact a Janitor and ask for an appraisal. Of course, by then, several staff have more than likely looked at it and found it to be too borderline relevancy- or quality-wise, at least in their judgement (another staff may disagree, but haven't seen it), to feel confident enough to approve or outright delete. Frequently, there's at least one disapproval by one of these staff. However, frequently, we can't immediately decide, so set it aside for later, perhaps in hopes someone else will make the decision or for the auto mod to pull the trigger. Of course, in the end, if the auto mod deletes it, you can appeal to the Head Admin NotMeNotYou, but it's best to poke a Janitor before the deadline.

If it's your art why not make an account on furaffinity or inkbunny for safety?

ive noticed approvals have been slow again. Heres what ive learned and have been told by a number of staff member's. as long as it has a non human character or feature it counts for here. animals, anthro animals, robots. even elfs or hylians with their pointy ears etc. so far i had good luck on this advise with only a few rejects. of course this may vary by staff. thats just what ive heard in general.

ive also heard the modqueue is a nightmare with thousands of pending posts (ive heard between 1 to 3k) thats grows quickly due to the sites popularity. and anyone with the ability to approve im sure has to keep up with the DNP list and keep an eye out paywall posts and ai posts and more. what goes on behind the scene reguarding approvals im sure is a pain in the arse for the staff.

Anyways just be patient. if there auto rejected contact any janitor or staff and politely ask for a second look at the rejected posts. hope that helps.
